We are seeking a skilled and passionate Assistant Pastry Chef to join our team in Dubai, UAE. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role. As an Assistant Pastry Chef, you will work closely with our Head Pastry Chef to create and prepare a variety of delectable pastries and desserts. You will also assist in managing the pastry team and ensuring the smooth operation of the pastry section. Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Pastry Chef in creating and preparing a wide range of pastries, desserts, and baked goods
- Ensure the quality and consistency of all pastry items produced
- Oversee the daily operations of the pastry section, including inventory management and ordering supplies
- Train and mentor junior pastry chefs, ensuring they adhere to recipes and standards
- Assist in developing new pastry recipes and menu items
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth service and timely delivery of pastry items
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all sanitation and safety regulations
- Assist in the development and implementation of cost control measures to minimize waste and maximize profitability
- Stay updated with industry trends and techniques, continuously improving pastry skills and knowledge
Preferred Candidate:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Assistant Pastry Chef or similar role
- Ability to work and decorate with fondant.
- Be able to understand and communicate in english.
- Formal culinary education or relevant certification
- Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, ingredients, and equipment
- Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication and leadership abilities
- Passion for pastry and a creative approach to dessert creation
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
