Biomedical Maintenance Engineer (Medical Devices)

  • Conducting research to understand the needs of medical professionals and patients, as well as the technological advancements relevant to medical devices. This involves staying up to date with medical trends, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Using engineering principles and software tools to design medical devices. This can include conceptualizing new devices, improving existing ones, or customizing devices to meet specific requirements.
  • Creating prototypes of medical devices to test their functionality, durability, and safety. 
  • Conducting various tests to ensure that medical devices meet regulatory standards, performance requirements, and user expectations.
  • Working closely with cross-functional teams, including other engineers, clinicians, regulatory affairs specialists, and manufacturing personnel, to bring medical devices from concept to market.
  • Providing technical support for biomedical equipment
  • Assessing the safety, efficiency and effectiveness of biomedical equipment
  • Training other personnel and clinicians to use equipment properly.
  • Writing and publishing technical reports and research papers
