Job Description - Chief Academic Naval Studies Instructor (00109627)<br/><br/>Chief Academic Naval Studies Instructor<br/><br/>-<br/><br/>00109627<br/><br/>Chief Academic Naval Studies Instructor (CANSI)<br/><br/>Grade: 5<br/><br/>JOB PURPOSE<br/><br/>BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Naval Forces ships and train RSNF personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their ships and equipment.<br/><br/>The post holder will be responsible for leading a team of Academic Naval Studies Instructors within the NOT Project at King Fahad Naval Academy (KFNA)This includes classroom delivery, placement and progress testing / marking, materials selection, preparation and development, syllabus development, implementation of courses and record keeping.<br/><br/>JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES<br/><br/>The post holder is responsible for:<br/><br/>·<br/><br/>t<br/><br/>he co-ordination of leave throughout the department ensuring all training requirements and commitments are met,<br/><br/>·<br/><br/>the implementation of ANS courses at KFNA, ensuring that they are delivered to plan and that quality is maintained,<br/><br/>·<br/><br/>providing direction and guidance to ANS Instructors and Support Staff, including professional development, training and PDRs,<br/><br/>·<br/><br/>the day-to-day leadership and management of the ANS team delivering the ANS courses to ensure that all training targets are met,<br/><br/>·<br/><br/>The post holder is to collate, analyse and distribute cadet performance results as required by the ANSTM or Head of Training (Ho T) as required.<br/><br/>·<br/><br/>The post holder is to ensure all staff are up to date with mandatory training required to fulfil their duties.<br/><br/>·<br/><br/>establishing and maintaining effective links with local RSNF Training Officers,<br/><br/>·<br/><br/>overseeing the preparation of timetables, scheduling and allocation of ANS staff<br/><br/>·<br/><br/>contributing to the acquisition, allocation, maintenance and use of training resources including textbooks, workbooks, classrooms, laboratories, training devices, and consumables,<br/><br/>·<br/><br/>working closely with the RSNF Surveillance and Trainee Welfare teams to ensure appropriate levels of trainee discipline is maintained,<br/><br/>·<br/><br/>reviewing ANS Instructor performance through lesson observations,<br/><br/>·<br/><br/>managing, directing and planning workload of the ANS team,<br/><br/>·<br/><br/>maintaining effective working relationships with the all stakeholders within KFNA such as Stan Eval, Training Operations and the LRC,<br/><br/>·<br/><br/>ensuring that all SHE requirements are communicated to staff and met in the Naval Specialty Training environment,<br/><br/>·<br/><br/>ensuring that the Performance Development Reviews (PDRs) of direct reports are completed to schedule, identifying development needs and ensuring effective objectives are communicated and realized,<br/><br/>·<br/><br/>selecting and developing appropriate course material to match students’ abilities and requirements,<br/><br/>·<br/><br/>providing regular updates to the ANSTM on training performance, trainee discipline and any other issues that require his assistance,<br/><br/>·<br/><br/>ensuring that all reports are completed and submitted in a timely manner,<br/><br/>·<br/><br/>ensuring that all quality process documentation requirements are implemented and communicated to the ANS team.<br/><br/>The post holder will be expected to operate to a standard of absolute integrity and professionalism.<br/><br/>The post holder will ensure the completion of any other reasonable request by their line manager, which aligns with Company business.<br/><br/>RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION<br/><br/>The post holder must:<br/><br/>·<br/><br/>Proven experience of leading a team of instructors and overseeing manpower coordination and training delivery to a high standard,<br/><br/>·<br/><br/>be a graduate of an advanced military trade school or an industry equivalent,<br/><br/>·<br/><br/>Extensive practical experience in their specialty,<br/><br/>·<br/><br/>have successfully completed a Train the Trainer or UKG approved instructional techniques course (RQF Level 3), or Saudi equivalent,<br/><br/>·<br/><br/>Recent instructional experience,<br/><br/>·<br/><br/>Recent experience in training programming, manpower scheduling and resource management,<br/><br/>·<br/><br/>be a good team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills,<br/><br/>·<br/><br/>be fluent in English with a minimum of IELTS 6.0 for non-native English language speakers achieved within the last two years, and<br/><br/>·<br/><br/>have extensive knowledge of City & Guilds training delivery, accreditation and certification,<br/><br/>·<br/><br/>Demonstrate high levels of cultural sensitivity.<br/><br/>The post holder should:<br/><br/>·<br/><br/>have knowledge and experience of different teaching methodologies and associated techniques,<br/><br/>·<br/><br/>have knowledge and experience of developing training materials,<br/><br/>·<br/><br/>have experience using interactive media, including e-content, for teaching, and<br/><br/>·<br/><br/>have experience of delivering training to a military customer, or a customer in a regulated environment.<br/><br/>EXPATRIATE EMPLOYEE
