Background of the Project

In June 2023, WorldFish has partnered with the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Cairo to initiate Center for Renewable Energy in Aquaculture (CeREA) project. A 4-year groundbreaking initiative to refine, test, and scale innovative renewable energy solutions that enable 5,000 fish producers, processors, and other fish value chain actors in Egypt to increase their productivity and incomes, leading to improved food and nutrition security, reduced food waste and loss, and more energy-efficient and climate-smart food value chains. More information about the project can be found on project webpage.

Consultancy objectives:

WorldFish seeks to hire a dynamic and expert report writer and editor consultant to develop and produce an Annual Progress Report of the CeREA project. The specific objectives of the study are as follows:

  1. Write a comprehensive project progress report on project performance for the donor.
  2. Report against project indicators, have a sense of figures, and be able to tell the difference between qualitative and quantitative data.
  3. Ensure all areas of the donor report template are filled out and the full story is present.
  4. Prepare the report attachments to support the project report story.

Scope of work:

The consultant is expected to become familiar with project outcomes and outputs through a desk review of project key documents (e.g., logical framework, factsheet, etc.). S/he will work in coordination with project consultants and WorldFish.

The consultant will be responsible for the following:

  1. Review project documents, project plans, and other relevant materials and information to understand the project's scope and progress.
  2. Develop a report outline and main content for feedback from the project team.
  3. Draft and edit a report of not more than 35–40 pages, ensuring the accuracy of all content. The report should follow donor template.
  4. Incorporate feedback from project staff and stakeholders into the report.
  5. Consolidate other input into report annexes, to include partnerships and media monitoring, among others.
  6. Format and layout the report with WorldFish branding to produce a finished product.
  7. Integrate any feedback from the project lead and ensure accuracy, clarity, and coherence.
  8. Submit the final Annual Progress Report in pdf and Word formats.
