Job purpose:

To establish a shared bridge with students, reinforcing values of belonging and mutual respect, creating a safe school environment, and instilling the school's values of empathy, humility, and justice. 

All students, regardless of their abilities or thoughts, deserve education, a sense of security, and support within a positive and safe school environment. Recognizing that childhood and adolescence are sensitive and crucial stages for brain development, accompanied by behavioral, social, or emotional challenges, we acknowledge that students require continuous support and guidance to navigate their lives. 

Roles & responsibilities:

  • Functioning as part of a team. (counselors, Alkashef coordinator, homeroom teachers and community engagement coordinators).
  • Coordinating homework and assessments policies.
  • Following up on all behavioral and discipline matters and inform the counselor when needed (as in case of persistent behavior/misbehavior).
  • Documenting all verbal warnings and producing all written warnings in accordance with the school’s code of conduct.
  • Receiving comments or complaints from teachers on disruptive behavior in class or anywhere on the school grounds (homeroom should also be informed in such situations).
  • Identifying and promoting good behavior and positive values in students.
  • Taking an active role to help resolve conflicts between students or between students and teachers.
  • Joining meetings with parents (in coordination with the counselor, Al Kashef, and the division principal) to discuss their child’s status.
  • Coordinating internal activities and assemblies.
  • Attending weekly meetings with the counselors and al Kashef coordinator along with the division principal.

Job requirements:

  • A bachelor and/or master’s degree in Education or a relevant field.
  • Attentiveness and attention to details.
  • Must have a basic understanding of adolescent development.
  • Experience in an educational context is a plus.
  • Excellent communication & social skills.
  • Ability to document and maintain documentation.
  • Must demonstrate supportive communication based on understanding and respect with the students, teachers, and parents.
  • Should be able to develop and maintain clear lines of communication with the team.
  • Conflict resolution skills are required.
  • Consistency & follow up skills.
