Job Summary

Provides legal counsel for all matters related to Doha or International legislation as appropriate to undertake all legal transactions on behalf of the company.

Job Responsibilities 1

Principal Accountabilities

Provides professional and extensive legal service and guidance to PIH operating business, local or international prior to entering into contractual relationships with external parties. Takes responsibility for miscellaneous legal matters related to PIH’s operations reporting to the Group Chief Legal Officer and assisting other legal Counsel in the team as appropriate. 

 

Job Responsibilities 2

  1. Provides advice and legal support to relevant executives within PIH ‘s departments and sister companies outlining to them the legal implications of issues they face in carrying out their business with the assistance of alternate Legal team member where appropriate
  2. Drafts and reviews agreements on behalf of PIH in order to ensure best interest of PIH is preserved at all times
  3. Drafts, reviews, outsources, manages, and negotiates contracts and agreements (including but not limited to shareholders’ agreement, management agreement, investment agreement, consultancy agreement, service provider agreement, MOU’s/LOI’s, commercial, sale and purchase contracts, construction contracts,) from outside parties intending to enter into a business with PIH in conjunction with external counsel
  4. Assists relevant GMs/Heads of Department of PIH in negotiations with outside parties; provide advice on the legal implications and options for concluding the negotiations
  5. Supervises and reviews the preparation of necessary applications and documents for obtaining registrations, renewals, licenses, approvals, and completing incorporation formalities, and other legal/administrative procedures for PIH’s business
  6. Advises and assists managers on the legal rights available to PIH, and the legal framework for doing business in a particular set of circumstances or region
  7. Advices/develops legal /PIH policies
  8. Liaises as necessary with external lawyers or organizations and supervise the handling of files or related documentation
  9. Proactively researches, monitors and provides relevant legal updates / developments within Qatar and in countries where PIH entities operate or intend to operate
  10. Coordinates outstanding legal issues with local external counsel and various branch offices of PIH.
  11. Manages and coaches a team of professionals towards the achievement of the objectives whilst ensuring personal development needs are met as well (where applicable)


Skills

Job Knowledge & Skills

• Proven analytical and opinion writing ability

• Familiarity with Government system and procedures

• Excellent knowledge of Local and International law

• ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.
