• Install and maintain electrical systems in various types of buildings, including commercial and residential properties.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and electrical code specifications to determine the layout of installation.
• Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting on electrical systems to identify and repair faults.
• Replace or repair wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
• Follow all safety procedures and comply with local building and electrical codes.
• Perform inspections of systems to ensure they are safe, functioning efficiently, and meet DEWA standards.
• Coordinate with other professionals, such as architects, engineers, and builders, to understand the requirements of electrical systems within the building.
• Prepare and maintain records detailing all maintenance, repair, and installation activities.
• Educate customers on the safe and efficient use of electrical systems and appliances within the building.
• Manage the DEWA handover process, which includes ensuring the electrical installations meet DEWA’s regulations, preparing the necessary documentation, and liaising with DEWA inspectors.
• Stay updated with the latest electrical products, technologies, and DEWA regulations to ensure the highest quality of work.

Skills

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or an equivalent apprenticeship.
• Proven experience as an electrician, with a focus on building installations.
• A valid electrician’s license or certification as required by local regulations.
• Good knowledge of DEWA regulations and the handover process.
• Ability to read and follow technical diagrams and blueprints.
• Proficiency in using electrical and hand tools, as well as electrical testing and measurement instruments.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Physically capable of lifting heavy objects and working in confined spaces.
