Assistant Pastry Chef

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Assistant Pastry Chef to join our team in Dubai, UAE. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role. As an Assistant Pastry Chef, you will work closely with our Head Pastry Chef to create and prepare a variety of delectable pastries and desserts. You will also assist in managing the pastry team and ensuring the smooth operation of the pastry section. Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the Head Pastry Chef in creating and preparing a wide range of pastries, desserts, and baked goods
  2. Ensure the quality and consistency of all pastry items produced
  3. Oversee the daily operations of the pastry section, including inventory management and ordering supplies
  4. Train and mentor junior pastry chefs, ensuring they adhere to recipes and standards
  5. Assist in developing new pastry recipes and menu items
  6. Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth service and timely delivery of pastry items
  7. Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all sanitation and safety regulations
  8. Assist in the development and implementation of cost control measures to minimize waste and maximize profitability
  9. Stay updated with industry trends and techniques, continuously improving pastry skills and knowledge

Preferred Candidate:

  1. Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Assistant Pastry Chef or similar role
  2. Ability to work and decorate with fondant.
  3. Be able to understand and communicate in english.
  4. Formal culinary education or relevant certification
  5. Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, ingredients, and equipment
  6. Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  7. Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  8. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  9. Strong communication and leadership abilities
  10. Passion for pastry and a creative approach to dessert creation
  11. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
