Development Manager

As a pivotal member of the HMH team, the Development Manager plays a strategic role in driving the growth and expansion of our brands across Africa, the Middle East and Asia. This role is instrumental in identifying and securing new hotel projects, fostering partnerships, and ensuring the successful execution of our development strategies.



Key Accountabilities:

  1. Strategic Prospecting: Identify and evaluate potential hotel projects for management contracts within the Africa the Middle East and Asia, aligning with HMH's growth objectives.
  2. Market Assessment: Conduct comprehensive market overview to assess the viability and potential of new hotel and hotel apartment projects.
  3. Pipeline Development: Develop and execute a robust pipeline of projects aimed at driving continuous improvement, innovation, and cost-effective solutions for HMH.
  4. Market Insights: Maintain a deep understanding of key supply markets, providing actionable insights and recommendations to stakeholders to maintain our competitive edge.
  5. Partnership Building: Cultivate and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, consultants, tourism authorities, financiers, and business leaders, to expand HMH's presence and influence in target regions.
  6. Business Development: Generate leads for new business accounts and projects, leveraging existing networks and market knowledge to identify opportunities for growth.
  7. Presentation and Communication: Prepare and deliver compelling business presentations and proposals to global business leaders and hotel owners, effectively communicating HMH's value proposition and vision.
  8. Representation: Represent HMH at investment shows, events, and industry forums, showcasing our brand and capabilities to prospective partners and stakeholders.
  9. Professional Development: Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging opportunities, continuously enhancing skills and knowledge to drive personal and organizational growth.

Key Competencies & Pre-requisites

  • Excellent experience in sourcing business leads. Hospitality experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of market dynamics, feasibility analysis, and contract negotiation.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
  • Strategic thinker with a results-driven mindset and a passion for driving growth and innovation.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and relevant industry software.
