ROLE PURPOSE: Field Project Officer is responsible for providing management leadership and oversight in implementing all the programme interventions in development.  S/he will work with the relevant partners and SCJ programme staff to ensure the timely implementation, quality, and relevance of the Health projects. S/he is responsible for providing management and operational guidance to field teams and ensuring that high-quality activities are implemented promptly, ensuring the reporting requirements are met in a timely and quality manner.  S/he will liaise with and advise the PDQ team in coordination with the project manager concerning relevant technical or quality issues associated with the programme to facilitate any necessary changes in programming design.

S/he will also define the project’s objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.

 

SCOPE OF ROLE:

Reports to: Project Manager

Staff directly reporting to this post: Field Coordinators and any other staff as designated/assigned by the projects manager.

 

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

  1. Support the project manager in donors, partners, ministries, and other meetings and represent SC.
  2. Work closely with human resources, finance, logistics, and security departments to ensure high quality of program deliverables.
  3.  Provide supervision and guidance for the daily community health activity of the health team and volunteer force in the camp.
  4. Provide ongoing support to the project field staff, partner agencies, and community groups, and ensure ongoing exchange of information between the partners and project senior staff.
  5. Produce weekly, monthly, and annual reports to management, partners, and donors.
  6. Coordinate with the technical team, other project managers, and the media and advocacy department on the project activities.
  7. Support in the planning and development of the program in the camp and related governorate.
  8. Ensure that the project activities are carried out in the area according to UNHCR and SCJ requirements and standards.
  9. Ensures that the health team adheres to humanitarian principles, code of conduct, child protection policy, and SCJ policies, practices, procedures, and applicable Jordan regulations.
  10. Track budget expenses in coordination with logistics and finance.
  11. Document best practices and lessons learned during the implementation of the project and look into ways how to improve processes and procedures.
  12. Work on the design and the development of the program’s annual and quarterly work plan for activity implementation
  13. Track the work plan and compare it with the goals achieved and look into ways of achieving the targets throughout the implementation of the project.
  14. Undertake any other relevant responsibilities assigned by the PM.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health – medicine – pharmacy or any related health field.
  • 5-7 years’ experience in the health sector.
  • Proven technical skills with effective personal communication skills.
  • Excellent planning, management, and coordination skills, provide support and guidance for the staff
  • Strong communication (written and spoken), and interpersonal skills in both English and Arabic
  • Ability and willingness to travel within Jordan.
