Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced SEN Coordinator to join our team. The SEN Coordinator will play a vital role in supporting the academic and personal development of students with special education needs. The successful candidate will collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure that students receive appropriate support and accommodations to reach their full potential.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with special education needs
- Coordinate and facilitate meetings with teachers, parents, and support staff to review student progress and adjust interventions as needed
- Provide guidance and support to teachers in implementing strategies and accommodations for students with special needs in the classroom
- Collaborate with external agencies and specialists to access additional support services for students with complex needs
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student assessments, progress, and interventions
- Stay informed about current best practices and legal requirements in special education and ensure compliance with regulations
Qualifications:
- Degree in Special Education, Psychology, or related field
- Previous experience working with students with special education needs
- Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices
- Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop and implement effective intervention strategies
- Compassion, patience, and a commitment to advocating for students with special needs
