Summary:

The communication officer will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the project's communication strategy. Their primary responsibility will be to develop and implement impactful media campaigns and create engaging content across various platforms. By leveraging their storytelling skills and expertise in both traditional and digital media, they will contribute significantly to enhancing visibility, maintaining a positive public image, and ensuring consistent messaging that reflects the project's objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

1.    Design and execute the media strategy, ensuring it aligns with project objectives and generates high-quality, outcome-driven media events.
2.    Review and refine project news, reports, bulletins, and correspondence, including translation when necessary.
3.    Produce project documentaries and success stories to showcase achievements.
4.    Adhere to policies and procedures for sharing beneficiary information, upholding ethical standards to safeguard their dignity.
5.    Monitor media coverage of project activities, coordinating with team members as required.
6.    Educate beneficiaries and the public about RRD, donors, and project activities through various communication channels.
7.    Maintain accurate documentation and records, ensuring they are updated and well-organized.
8.    Prepare necessary reports and submit them to the supervisor promptly.
9.    Undertake any additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

1.    Education: Bachelor’s degree in media, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field.
2.    Professional Experience: Minimum 3-5 years in media creation and photography.
3.    Content Development: Demonstrated ability to create compelling content across various platforms.
4.    Digital Proficiency: Proficiency in digital communication tools and social media platforms.
5.    Crisis Management: Experience in handling media inquiries during sensitive situations.
6.    Multimedia Skills: Familiarity with multimedia production is advantageous.
7.    Language Skills: Proficiency in written and spoken English.
