We are looking for a skilled and passionate Sous Chef specializing in Italian cuisine to join our team in Manama, Bahrain. As a Sous Chef, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in managing the kitchen operations, ensuring the highest quality of food preparation and presentation, and maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in creating and designing Italian-inspired menus, taking into consideration seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring that they follow proper food handling and safety procedures.
- Oversee the preparation and cooking of Italian dishes, ensuring that they are executed to the highest standards.
- Ensure proper portion control and minimize food waste.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering ingredients and supplies.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, following sanitation standards and ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop new recipes and refine existing ones.
- Assist in conducting regular kitchen inspections to identify any areas for improvement.
- Stay up-to-date with current culinary trends and techniques, incorporating them into our menu offerings.
Preferred Candidate:
- Prior experience working as a Sous Chef or Chef de Partie in an Italian restaurant or hotel.
- Strong knowledge of Italian cuisine, including familiarity with traditional cooking techniques, ingredients, and flavors.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively train and motivate kitchen staff.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality food and service.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Culinary degree or certification is preferred but not mandatory.
