Primary Duties & responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Undertake the preparation and production of all food orders as required, ensuring the delivery of correct orders and appropriate presentation and quality for each service.
  • To ensure food safety and hygiene at all times, following correct procedures for the cleansing and preparation of all raw food, dating and rotating all products correctly, and checking quality and freshness of food prior to use.
  • Ensure dishes are prepared according to predefined recipes and consistency is maintained
  • Ensure that each dish that goes out is of highest standard and quality
  • Managing and training of chefs/commis working with you
  • Responsible for developing the menu.
  • Monitoring portion and waste control to maintain profit margins
  • Ensure confidentially of all recipes, formats and menus
  • Keep up to date with the new products, latest trends in both flavors and aesthetic appeal recipes and preparation techniques
  • Instruct and lead subordinates through their daily requirements in food preparation and actively take part in set up of special functions
  • Make sure stock levels are maintained and required items are timely ordered
  • Responsible for you and your team to maintain the outlet's service standards, product quality and cleanliness and have high standards of food hygiene
  • Executes customer special orders and assists with accurate pricing
  • Interact with customer to understand guest requirement and customize cake accordingly
  • Responsible for designing, decorating and developing the cake according to customer specifications.
  • Delivers cakes directly to customers, when necessary.
  • Responsible for executing all duties assigned by immediate supervisor/management in a timely manner

Qualifications:

  • A degree in culinary science or hospitality management
  • Strong knowledge of cooking methods, kitchen equipment, and best practices
  • Minimum 1-year experience as Cake Chef and 2 years as DCDP
  • Basic computer skills required
