Job Purpose A leading defense company in Abu Dhabi is looking for a Principal Hardware Engineer to join its advanced technology team. This role is perfect for a highly skilled engineer with hands-on experience in hardware architect and design; development and prototyping; testing and validation; and research and innovation .
Key Responsibilities Hardware Architect and Design Define hardware architecture Components selection Integration of hardware with software Compliance to required standard (eg. Environmental, EMI/EMC) Multiboard system integration
Hardware Development and Prototyping Power tree design and control Mixed signal design (Analog and high/low speed digital signals) System control logic PCB Design (Schematics & Layout) Signal and Power Integrity Simulation Design for testability Hardware bring up
Testing and Validation Hardware validation and verification Test Jig development Field testing Compliance Testing
Lifecycle Management and Documentation Documentation (Design document and reports) Obsolescence management Manufacturing support
Research and Innovation Stay updated on technology advancement Innovation in design
Required Qualifications & Experience Bachelor, Master’s, PhD Degree Minimum of 8 years experience in hardware engineering Must be familiar with new FPGA / DSP / Microprocessor technologies and chipset Well verse in high speed interfaces such as PCIe Gen 4, SERDES and etc.
Desirable Skills Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team environment Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
