Position: QGIS Expert Type: Hourly contract Compensation: $40 - $100/hour Location: Remote Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
Role Responsibilities Lead end-to-end spatial projects using QGIS, from data acquisition to final map outputs. Document workflows and reasoning during spatial data processing and analysis tasks. Clean, organize, and validate spatial datasets to ensure accuracy and consistency. Manage coordinate systems, projections, and spatial references for optimal data interoperability. Design and style map layers for clarity, usability, and professional presentation. Create advanced layouts and cartographic outputs while explaining design decisions. Troubleshoot GIS challenges and document problem-solving approaches within workflows.
Requirements Strong experience in QGIS with the ability to manage complete GIS projects independently. Proven ability to deliver high-quality spatial analyses and geospatial outputs. Strong understanding of spatial data formats, coordinate systems, and GIS principles. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain workflows and technical decisions. Strong data cleaning, organization, and transformation skills in GIS environments. Ability to identify and resolve complex issues in GIS workflows. Ability to work independently in a remote and collaborative environment.
